Last updated 27 October 2026This notice explains what we collect when you visit purplefeather.co.uk or get in touch, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it to the minimum.

When you send us an enquiry
Our contact form asks for your name, email address and what you'd like help with. You can also tell us your company website, your budget, when you're hoping to start and how you heard about us. We also note the time you sent it and the page you came from (or, if you came from another website, just its address).
Our free discovery session form also asks for your name and email address, and you can add a phone or WhatsApp number, your company website, some background, what you'd like to talk about, your budget, your country or time zone, where you'll be connecting from, and which days and times suit you. We use these details only to arrange and prepare for your session, and keep them for the same time as other enquiries (see below).
We use this only to reply to you and arrange a discovery session. We send you one automatic email to confirm we've got your message. We don't add you to a mailing list.
Your enquiry is emailed to our inbox (Google Workspace), saved on our web server outside the public part of the site, and added to a private Google Sheet we use to keep track of enquiries. The same applies if you email us directly.
Our legal basis: taking steps you've asked for before we might work together, and our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us.
Stopping spam: the form uses a hidden field and a timing check to spot bots. To stop floods of messages, it keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for an hour. That's our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.
Cookies
When you first visit, we ask before using anything that isn't essential. Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel don't load at all until you say yes, and you can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you turn them off, we delete their cookies from this site.
| Cookie | Type | Set by | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
pf_consent | Essential | Purple Feather | Remembers your cookie choice, so we don't ask on every page | 182 days |
_ga | Analytics (only with your OK) | Google Analytics | Tells one visitor from another so we can count visits | 2 years |
_ga_X5VKGGG8MV | Analytics (only with your OK) | Google Analytics | Keeps track of your current visit | 2 years |
_fbp | Marketing (only with your OK) | Meta | Recognises your browser so we can see whether our Facebook and Instagram ads work | 90 days |
_fbc | Marketing (only with your OK) | Meta | Remembers that you arrived by clicking one of our ads | 90 days |
Google Analytics shows us which pages people read, roughly where they are, what device they use and how they found us, so we can improve the site. It doesn't tell us who you are. Google keeps this data for 14 months.
The Meta Pixel tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) that you visited, so we can measure our ads and Meta can show them to people likely to be interested. Meta may link this to your Facebook or Instagram account and use its own cookies. Meta's own privacy policy explains how.
Our legal basis for analytics and marketing cookies is your consent.
Videos, images and links
Our videos play from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The player only loads when you press play. After that, YouTube (Google) may store information on your device and record what you watch, under Google's privacy policy. Before you press play, the preview image on our home page comes from YouTube's image server, which sees your IP address but sets no cookies. Author photos on our blog come from Gravatar in the same way.
If you follow a link to another site, such as X (Twitter) or Facebook, its own privacy policy applies.
Hosting
Our website is hosted by Krystal in London, UK. Like any web host, their servers keep short-term technical logs (such as IP address, browser and the pages requested) to keep the site running and secure.
Who else sees your information
Only the services above that help us run the site and reply to you: Krystal (hosting), Google (email, our enquiries sheet, Analytics and YouTube) and Meta (the Pixel, only with your OK). We never sell your information.
Google and Meta may handle data in the USA. When they do, it's protected by UK-approved safeguards, such as the UK-US data bridge or the UK's standard contract terms.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and discovery session requests: up to 2 years after we last hear from you, unless we go on to work together.
- The hashed IP address used to stop spam: one hour (it's cleared the next time the form is used).
- Your cookie choice: 182 days, then we ask again.
- Analytics and marketing cookies: as listed in the table above, or until you clear them or turn them off.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you and send you a copy
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your information
- stop or limit how we use it, including anything we do for our legitimate interests
- give you your information in a format you can pass on
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Just email hello@purplefeather.co.uk. We'll reply within one month, and it won't cost you anything.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first and we'll put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
